Coaching Tips

Here is a little something for you to think about!

When you practice shooting at the goal from anywhere but the centre of the goal try aiming at the opposite sideboard. The next step in this plan is to then add attackers to stand beside each post. Their job is merely to deflect your shot into the goal.

What this effectively does is makes the goal wider for you (sounds like a good idea!) and gives the keeper a much harder task as he has to cover more area and he may think your shot is going to miss.

The only problem with this is that it means that the attack must make sure it arrives in the circle with these two goalpost huggers before the first shot goes in - so maybe the forwards need to hold the ball up and let the half backs assist while the full attack line up get into position.
